Exploring the Best Places to Travel From SeaTac With Your Kids

Child travelerIf you haven’t yet taken your kids on a summer trip, you still have plenty of time to fly somewhere fun with them. Just pack them up in the family vehicle, park your car at a SeaTac Airport offsite parking facility for safekeeping (such as Aeroparking), and go make some memories with your beloved offspring! You might choose any of countless fabulous possibilities that you and your children can enjoy, from historical sightseeing in Williamsburg to several days exploring your theme parks of choice.

Colonial Williamsburg

This historic destination district is located in Williamsburg, Virginia, and it’s actually a living museum (the biggest one of its type in the world). Colonial Williamsburg can provide the edifying travel experience that you may seek for your children – but the trip will be anything but boring. You’ll be surrounded by people dressed in the garb of the American colonial period. You and the kids can taste the foods that were eaten during that time period, and you may even go on a horse-and-buggy ride. If the little ones crave a bit of modern-day entertainment, you might also take them to Busch Gardens (a theme park) or Water Country (a water park); both places are kid-approved attractions not far from the living museum.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone is mostly in Wyoming, but some of the park reaches as far as Idaho and Montana. The time that you save by flying the several hundred miles to the park from SeaTac will afford you more time to spend enjoying it when you’re there. While you and the kids are at Yellowstone, you could glimpse a variety of wildlife, including over 100 bird species, gray wolves, mountain goats, bears, fish, frogs, and snakes. One of the top activities at Yellowstone is viewing the geysers. A geyser gushing water several feet in the air is a sight that your kids will not likely forget. Once you arrive, you may want to rent an RV and go camping at one of the 12 park campgrounds for a few days.

The Island of Maui

An island vacation in Hawaii is guaranteed to be the trip of a lifetime – and your children will likely remember the experience long into adulthood. You might start your vacation with a snorkeling tour, which is sure to be a hit with younger kids and adolescents. Another stop you’ll want to make is at the Maui Ocean Center (one of the top-rated aquariums in the United States). Other kid-friendly activities worth considering on Maui are whale watching, touring the area by helicopter, and zip-lining in the jungle.

San Diego Area Theme Parks

This California city offers a wealth of things that you and your children may appreciate. The sprawling San Diego Zoo is one of the most memorable zoos you’ll find. You’ll also benefit from taking the kids to SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Don’t forget Legoland, a theme park based on the ever-popular children’s toy; the park is approximately 30 miles away from San Diego.

Once you choose a destination for your family trip, you will be well on your way to planning your summer’s-end adventure before it’s too late. Remember to park your car at the Aeroparking lot on your way to SeaTac Airport. You and your kids can catch the free shuttle to the airport from there, and your car will be parked safely until you come back from your vacation.
